From GPS Tracking to Fleet Operations: Integrating Wialon with EFFI
We connected Wialon with EFFI to synchronize vehicles and import trip data, bringing telematics closer to everyday logistics operations.
How we connected vehicle tracking data with logistics management to make existing systems work together.
The Challenge
Most transport companies already use GPS tracking to monitor their vehicles. They know where their trucks are, how far they have travelled and when they stopped.
However, daily operations extend far beyond vehicle locations. Dispatchers manage transport orders, assign drivers, collect delivery documents and track costs, often using several independent applications.
This separation creates additional administrative work and makes it difficult to maintain a consistent view of fleet activity.
Our goal was to bridge this gap without replacing the customer's existing telematics solution.
Our Solution
At BSQ, we developed an integration between Wialon, a widely used telematics platform, and EFFI, our logistics operations system.
Using the Wialon API, we implemented token-based authentication, vehicle data synchronization and trip information import.
An important part of the development was mapping external vehicle identifiers to internal EFFI records. This allows information from two different platforms to be associated with the same vehicle.
We also had to account for differences in how the systems represent operational data. A GPS trip, for example, does not necessarily correspond to a transport order. Keeping these concepts separate is essential for reliable integration.
The resulting architecture connects telematics information with EFFI's existing fleet management environment, creating opportunities for further automation.
The Result
Vehicle records and trip information from Wialon can now be imported into EFFI.
The completed integration establishes a technical foundation for connecting tracking data with dispatching, reporting and other logistics processes.
Rather than building another GPS platform, we extended the capabilities of existing software.
Beyond This Project
The same approach applies to ERP systems, industrial equipment, monitoring platforms and other business applications.
At BSQ, we focus on connecting technology with real operational needs.
Because better software doesn't always mean replacing what you have. Sometimes it means making everything work together.
